Primary audience

Originally, we decided that our target audience would be 16-20 year olds. However this decision was changed after we received the results of our surveys and concluded that the main viewers for our film are young adults being male, around the age of 18-30. We decided on this because we have included crimes such as murders and drug dealing which we believe male young adults show a higher interest in this type of genre. The class our film is aimed at is lower class and middle class as they are suited more to the genre. In films we have deconstructed such as Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction the main characters tend to be the antagonists, making the audience interested in how they do their business; young male adults are a large audience. The police are used in these films; showing the audience how they deal with certain circumstances, always ending up superior. Adding the police means that the young adult males can see what’s right and wrong and it means they see a constant chase in the film, with the police chasing the antagonists. The primary audience needs to consist of people who can relate to the narrative. It could appeal to people enjoy watching films from this certain production company. Overall, due to the nature of the genre and the male studded cast, we believe our film is targeted and will appeal more to the male side of the younger generation.

Secondary audience

The secondary audience will hear of the film through word of mouth and advertisement, in this case maybe from their children. Our secondary audience are older male adults, between the ages of 30 and 50. This is because the majority of characters are this age and they can relate to them. It is still aimed at a male audience as the majority of people in the film are male and there is very little female characters within the film. Therefore, both of our target audiences lean towards the males due to the aforementioned points.
