Casting

We are looking for adults, which are needed to make our film realistic. It would be unrealistic if we used students for gangsters, a bouncer or a manager of a club. It will be preferred if they have studied drama in the past.

We will be holding auditions for our cast where we will give lines for them to read; we will film this so we can see the outcome and judge for a second time. We will judge the actors on whether they are suitable for the characters in our film.

We have held auditions for our film and have confirmed the actors. These are the actors we have chosen.

The antagonists (gangsters):

Matt Rhoda – Shall be playing the dominant character of the opening scene, the lead gangster. We have chosen him because his croaky voice we were looking for sounded convincing which will fit the role of the antagonist. His acting came across well in the auditions and I have also him in the past and found him to be a pliable actor who we could trust to do as we directed.

Malcolm Hughes – We have chosen Malcom do play a role of a gangster (George) with a speaking part as he impressed us in the auditions and he had achieved an B at GCSE drama.

Peter Aylott – Peter has been chosen to be gangster as we believe he came across in a cool manner in the auditions. We think he would fit the role well of being a gangster who is represented as cocky from their body language and facial expression.

Rob Laurens – After watching Rob at the auditions we thought he would suit a role of a gangster as he came across quite menacing from his facial expressions, so he will act as a gangster without a speaking part.

Adam Senior –  We have chosen Adam as a gangster as we believe he has the right build for the role and came across in an intimidating way when auditioning him. His age will also qualify him as a father figure to the other gangsters.

The manager of club:

Paul Brandon – We gave Paul a speaking role as has achieved an A level in drama and performed well as this part in the auditions. He could act in a frightened way which will be useful in our film.

The bouncer of club:

Karl Brown – Karl has been chosen of the bouncer of the club as he is of a big build, which we needed to make a point in the film. This is because the bouncer gets beaten up so we want to make a point that the gangsters are strong and in control. He also acts well to be intimidated without speaking as highlighted in the audition.

Rejected

Charlie O’Connor – We auditioned Charlie but we didn’t think he was suitable for a part in our film. Although he acted well, we believed he was too young for a role as all the characters need to be older than his age.

David Harris – David is an A level drama student who we auditioned for our film. However, we rejected him as we don’t think his way of acting will fit our film and also he is too young for a role.

Tamjidul Abedin – Tamjidul is an adult and the right age for our film however we didn’t think he was suitable. Unfortunately, Tamjidul didn’t impress us in our auditions as he kept forgetting his lines and couldn’t control his facial expressions.
